Circus Bent

Circus Bent is Lukas Mantodea, originally from Poland but resident in the UK for almost ten years now.

Music has always been main part of his life since he’s grown up in a family of musicians, mostly dedicated to classical, jazz and blues.

His journey into the psychedelic scene and culture started back in the early ’90s when he began performing as a DJ, mixing old style goa trance and chill out, while in the same years he was involved in the organisation of the first Goa parties in Poland. In the beginning he was inspired mostly by Eye Q Records, Harthouse Records, Blue Room Records, Dragonfly Records, as well as from artists such as Eternal Basement, Sven Vath, early Kox Box and Eat Static, Planet Ben and Juno Reactor.

From ’96 he started to produce his own music and he played many gigs mainly in Eastern and Middle Europe as “Mantodea” live and dj until 2005, when he moved to UK and started being involved in several music projects.

He played few gigs in Manchester and London, but his full attention was focused on improving his Music Production skills. In 2008 he started a course of music production and sound engineering at the University of Central Lancashire, which was a great opportunity to develop his skills and experience.

Lukas graduated three years later and after a short break from gigs and music scene it was then time to turn his attention into his new project, that has already been signed by the Italian record label Looney Moon Records: “Circus Bent”. Through all these years Lukas developed his own original style with hypno-chaotic sounds straight from his subconscious mind.
